About The Book
A limited knowledge or lack of it, concerning the reproduction, contraception, family planning and sex can have a significant impact upon the social, family and personal growth and development of an individual. The reproduction, contraception and sex education are among the major issues in everyone’s life but unfortunately, our society does not permit open discussion on them. Sex problems are the burning questions in several families and may be a dominant cause of separation and/or divorce. This book is an initiative to cover all the queries and problems of an individual pertaining to reproduction, contraception, family planning and sex. It is essentially an attempt to make young India aware of certain facts regarding these issues.
The book is divided into four sections—Reproduction, Contraception, Family Planning and Sex. The reproduction section covers the basics of reproduction, including anatomy (structure and function) of reproductive organs, sex hormones, menstruation cycles and semen analysis that are directly associated with contraception and fertility. This book also provides the information regarding some physiological changes that occur after conception, sequential development changes in fetus and some valuable information about childbirth.
The contraception section deals with all the modern methods of contraception which are available in Indian markets and family planning centers. The advantages, disadvantages, action mechanisms and side effects of the condoms, pills, IUD, spermicidal agents, emergency pills, MT pills and abortion are elaborately mentioned in the concerned chapters. In addition, all the branded contraceptives which are easily available in Indian markets have also been enlisted.
There are certain permanent methods of family planning like tubectomy and vasectomy which are highly effective. The adverse impacts of prevailing myths are more dominant over the actual few side effects of these methods. The family planning section exposes these myths. Besides, government policy of family planning, help provided by it, including
the financial assistance during any mishappening or compensation of loss suffered due to failure of these methods, etc. have also been discussed in this section.
Last section of the book covers the highly delicate issue of life which can help you to diagnose certain problems related to sex and other factors—medical or psychological— associated with it. The book will also help you whenever you or your partner faces any kind of problem regarding these issues.
The book is written in simple language with minimum medical jargon so as to make it comprehensible to common people.
