About The Book

Does your child throw too many tantrums?
Is your child late in speaking?
Does your child bed-wet beyond the age of five?
Does your child lie, cheat, steal or is aggressive or hyperactive?
Is your child obese? Does he/she suffer from too many illnesses?
Is your child adopted? Gifted? Vulnerable? Shy?
These, and many more such issues which are common in children, but for which there is no treatment in terms of medicines or surgery, are discussed at length in this book. The book is written mainly for parents and teachers, with the objective of making them understand the child and various problems that children commonly encounter. Managing a growing child is never an easy task. Added to this, there are other issues nowadays that make things worse, both for the child and for the parent. These include the additional pressure of both parents working, the changing role of the mother from housewife to career woman, the increased educational burden on the child, and an intense media influence. All these often combine to make the child of today angry, insecure, stressed and unmanageable. As a result, children today manifest plenty of physical and psychological symptoms, and often suffer from many behavioral disorders. Parents are often at a loss to understand why their child is behaving in a manner which is often unacceptable, and is not in keeping with how children are normally supposed to behave.
The aim of the book is to answer many common queries that parents often raise and worry about. It attempts to create an understanding in parents, about the working of the child’s mind and body, for it is only from an understanding that better management can come about.
